Join us for virtuoso saxophone music! Journey from impressionist Paris to the fiery tango rhythms of Buenos Aires.

The Scholfield-Clarke Duo stands out as one of the most exciting Scottish chamber music ensembles of their generation. Richard Scholfield and Iain Clarke have cultivated a close musical partnership over more than a decade, resulting in an energetic and engaging presence on stage. Their artistry has been recognized with a Tunnell Trust Award, and they have performed at prestigious venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields and Perth Concert Hall.

Richard Scholfield

Richard Scholfield is a distinguished Scottish saxophonist who regularly performs across the UK as both a soloist and chamber musician. He is a Legere Reeds artist, and recently earned second prize at the 2024 Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition at Mayfield Festival. Richard is the saxophone tutor at the Music School of Douglas Academy, and also frequently performs with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.

Iain Clarke

Iain Clarke is originally from the Isle of Arran, now based in London, and works around the UK and internationally as a collaborative and orchestral pianist. His orchestral work sees him perform regularly on piano and celesta with orchestras including the Philharmonia, LSO, LPO, RPO, London Concert Orchestra and RSNO in major concert venues around the UK as well as on tours in Europe and the USA. His debut album recording of the Concerto for Two Pianos and Wind Quintet by Malcolm Williamson was released in May 2025
