Lucy Rowan
Scottish flautist Lucy Rowan is a Leverhulme Arts scholar studying at the Royal College of Music under the guidance of Gitte Marcusson, Emer McDonough and Dimis Demetriades. An enthusiastic solo, chamber and orchestral player, Lucy has found a distinctive voice through her instrument and shares a great abundance of imagination through her playing. Lucy has performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland as Principal Flautist for the past two years and is an alumnus of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. This year, Lucy was accepted to study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris for a term through the Erasmus+ scheme and spent this time studying with Philippe Bernold and Florence Delephine-Souchard. This opportunity gave her a chance to experience a new side of music and delve into the incredible collection of French flute music the the conservatoire where many of the pieces originated.
Iain Clarke
Iain Clarke is originally from the Isle of Arran in Scotland and works around London, the UK, and internationally as a collaborative and orchestral pianist. He has performed extensively across the UK in venues including Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Snape Maltings, Usher Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Regular chamber partnerships include saxophonist Richard Scholfield, horn player Olivia Gandee and cellist Lavinnia Rae. His orchestral work sees him perform regularly with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (including tours to Poland and Belgium), the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Bath Festival Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. He regularly works as a staff accompanist around the London conservatoires, including holding the fellowship position at the Royal College of Music from 2022-2024 with their woodwind, brass and percussion departments.
