Join us for a 90-minute musical journey around the globe with Dmitrii Kalashnikov (piano), Deniz Sensoy (violin), and Clare Juan (Cello), who have picked a selection of classical, modern, and popular, music from every continent, including from their home countries; Russia, Turkey, and Australia, respectively.
In keeping with the ethos of The London Sketch Club’s Sunday concerts, Deniz and Clare are currently students at Royal College of Music. Dmitrii is a recent graduate who, having attended the club as a guest, expressed a strong desire to return and perform. Refreshments, sandwiches and sparkling wine, will be served in the interval.
Dmitrii Kalashnikov
Concert Pianist
Dmitrii Kalashnikov is a concert pianist whose performances are distinguished by depth, clarity, and a refined sense of expression. His artistry has taken him to renowned stages including the House of Music in Moscow, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Wigmore Hall in London, and major venues throughout the United Kingdom, United States, France, Austria, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Germany, and other countries.
Recent highlights also include appearances at the Blüthner Festival, the Lille Piano Festival, and performances in Madeira and Vienna.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Russian National Orchestra under Mikhail Pletnev and has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Sir András Schiff, Lang Lang, Stephen Hough, and Imogen Cooper, among others.
Dmitrii’s artistry has been recognized through numerous international piano competitions. He was awarded Second Prize at the Isidor Bajić Piano Memorial in Serbia (2023) and was a finalist and diploma recipient at the Concours International de Piano à Mayenne (2025). He also took part in the Scottish International Piano Competition (2023) and Classic Piano 2024 in Dubai, where he reached the second round.
Born in Moscow, Dmitrii began studying piano at the age of five at the Gnessin Special School of Music under Ada Traub and Tatyana Vorobieva. He later graduated with honors from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he studied with Professor Elena Kuznetsova.

Clare Juan
Cello
Clare Juan is an Australian cellist, currently pursuing her Master of Performance degree at the Royal College of Music (RCM0, London. She previously completed her undergraduate studies at the RCM. In 2015 Clare made her concerto debut with the Preston Symphony Orchestra and as an avid chamber musician, she recently won first prize in the KraCamera competition and the RCM Contemporary Competition. Clare plays on a cello made by William Forster Junior in 1804, commissioned by George IV and previously owned by His Majesty King Charles III, on loan to her by the Royal College of Music, London.

Deniz Sensoy
Violin
Turkish violinist Deniz Sensoy was named one of Classic FM’s Rising Stars of 2024, awarded the 2024/25 London Symphony Orchestra Conservatoire Scholarship, and selected as a Britten Pears Young Artist. She has received the ‘Future’s Women Stars’ Prize from the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, and the title of ‘Glowing Star of the Year’ from İş Bank. She has been awarded first prize at the 13th International Mimar Sinan Young Musicians Competition, second prize at the 16th Bohdan Warchal ‘Talents for Europe’ Competition in Slovakia, and third prizes at both the Ohrid Pearl International Music Competition and the 4th Gülden Turalı National Violin Competition. She has been a finalist at the 4th Paul Hindemith International Music Competition and the 24th Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition.
Deniz currently plays on a Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù violin (Cremona, 1732), generously loaned by a private foundation and the RCM, as well as a Thomas Perry violin (Dublin, 1822), kindly loaned by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins.
