We welcome Paul Mnatsakanov, an alumnus of the Royal College of Music.
Paul Mnatsakanov is an emerging young American-Russian pianist, historical keyboardist and collaborative pianist/répétiteur.
The concert will feature Robert Schumann‘s Carnaval, Op. 9, a work for piano solo, written in 1834–1835 and subtitled Scènes mignonnes sur quatre notes (Little Scenes on Four Notes). It consists of 21 short pieces representing masked revellers at Carnival, a festival before Lent.
In performances, Paul seeks to share with audiences an understanding of music as an art form that is all about meaning, storytelling and emotion. His passion for conducting, opera directing, and languages, of which he fluently speaks English, Russian, French and Italian, inspires and informs his playing.
He is currently studying piano at the Royal College of Music in London with Head of Keyboard, Prof. Vanessa Latarche, collaborative piano with Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles, and conducting with Toby Purser and Peter Stark. He also studies piano with Philippe Raskin at the Gulda School of Music in Vienna.
He is a first prize winner of multiple international competitions, including “Kendall Taylor Beethoven Piano Competition” (London, 2024), “Valsesia Musica International Competition” (Varallo, Italy, 2023), “Città di Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition” (Cantù, Italy, 2022), amongst others.
£12 online.
